Fourteen teammates of The Arizona Team came together to participate in the Autism Speaks walk in Windsor, California on April 9th, 2011. Each member of The Arizona Team donated their personal time and money in order to participate. Autism Speaks in an organization that was founded in February 2005 with a mission to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.
Autism affects 1 in 110 children. It is more common in children than AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined. However, the cause is unknown. Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism. By bringing awareness to autism, this organization is able to continue to work towards raising the funds needed to support their mission.
